January is always a fun month for me, coming back for Christmas break is always refreshing, to celebrate the new year I always do a craft on Chinese New Year. the kids get a kick out of that. This year is the year of the dragon so with my younger students we made dragon masks and with the older students I introduce them to Chinese writing and they wrote “welcome” to welcome in the New Year!
We also painted snowmen in a way which some of my younger students are not use to painting them . We made snowmen in a “close-up” view that gave them a chance to paint really big.
We found a fun way to play with symmetry. We folded our paper in half and made an abstract design along the folded edged when we cut it out we used our imagination to design a very unique creature.
